Do you want to explore more than the fabled but crowded sights of the Czech Republic?
You have a chance to discover Mělník, a picturesque town waiting for you close to Prague. It is situated on a small hill above the confluence of the Czech biggest rivers Labe and Vltava. The entire Czech Highland can be seen from there. The town is renowned for its vineyards and delicious wine which was brought by the famous king Charles IV from France.
The tour starts with a short walk from a bus station to the town centre (10 minutes). We see the Prague Gateway, the Peace square (Náměstí míru) with the renovated Town hall, the Town hall’s yard and the Town museum. We have a look at the marvellous landscape which is surrounding the town and then we visit the Mělník’s castle. We have a possibility to go for a lunch to one of the good restaurants and relax. The visit of St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Church with the Czech second biggest Charnel-house and climbing up to 37 metres high tower help to digest. Lastly, we go to the bus station around a building of the Old school, the Masaryk’s centre of culture and other worth seeing buildings. We take a bus back to Prague around 3 pm. The duration of the tour depends on the speed of our legs 🙂
